Santa Ynez Outdoors

Cold Spring Tavern is a landmark restaurant and one of the must-see destinations within the greater Santa Ynez Valley. Established in 1865, the tavern has been serving food and drinks for over one hundred and forty years. Originally constructed as a way station for travelers enduring the perilous and uncomfortable stagecoach ride over San Marcos Pass, it has evolved over time into one of the classic dining and entertainment destinations west of the Mississippi. Featured in numerous television shows and a multitude of articles over the years, the tavern has gained notoriety far beyond the borders of Santa Barbara County. But there is more to the tavern than its impressive history. It also serves some of the most interesting food in Santa Barbara County, including such hearty dishes as breast of duck, rack of venison, and legendary tri-tip sandwiches sliced up every week during their famous Sunday afternoon barbeques. Each week two live bands accompany the tri-tip barbeque from 1:30 to 8:00, making for an all day festival of food and fun.
