Justin D. Marshall is a full-time regular guy, part-time traveler, adventurer (because every day is its own adventure), author, cyclist, splitboarder, and aspiring aficionado of all things good. After publishing his first book in the summer of 2016, he has started researching and writing a second book while continuing to work, travel, adventure, and enjoy life in beautiful California.

After graduating from college and working in several different industries, along with an extended trip abroad, Justin spent more than ten years working in the financial services industry for one of the nation’s largest investment advisor firms. During his time with the advisor firm, Justin worked in a number of roles from operations, marketing, business development, product development and client relations. Justin is currently working as a consultant doing project work in the startup world, and is constantly exploring new opportunities and ventures.

In 2003 Justin completed a round-the-world trip, traveling to fifteen countries in just over eleven months, culminating with the 2003 Tour de France. That trip of a lifetime was a transformative experience for Justin and resulted in a lasting shift in the way he interacts with and views himself as a citizen of the world.

Born in Santa Barbara, California, Justin moved to Santa Cruz with his mom and older sister at a young age. Justin grew up and attended high school in Santa Cruz. After graduating from high school, Justin moved back to Santa Barbara to attend college, where he graduated with a degree in English Literature from UCSB. Justin continued living in Santa Barbara for most of the proceeding 20 years, with additional time spent in Seattle, New York, San Francisco, and time abroad. Justin is currently splitting his time between the greater Bay Area, Santa Cruz, and Santa Barbara.
